Ana sayfa / News

Mercedes is discontinuing the EQS sedan. The company announced that they are working on the next-generation Mercedes S-Class electric sedan, which they plan to launch by 2030. The new model will take its place on the market with both internal combustion engine options and fully electric versions. So, why were the EQS models discontinued? Details in our news…

Mercedes states that the reason for the decision to stop the EQS model is low sales figures . Of course, this does not mean that they have given up on electric vehicle production. Now, the road will continue with the new S-Class. The new S-Class will use an updated version of the current W223 platform . The vehicle will offer quite striking changes in its exterior design.

In particular , a wider grille , a modernized front bumper and new LED headlights inspired by the CLA concept will give the vehicle a more stylish appearance. At the rear, taillights similar to the E-Class will be used and the general design language of the vehicle will be preserved.

The electric versions will be built on the MB.EA Large platform . Innovations are also expected in the interior design. In particular, the digital instrument panel , side screens for the passenger side and the new MB.OS infotainment system will be equipped with Mercedes’ latest technologies.

Mercedes plans to compete directly with models like the BMW i7 and Tesla Model S with its new electric S-Class . The company’s main goal is to gain a stronger position in the future electric vehicle market. How do you think Mercedes’ move will affect competition in the electric vehicle market? Do you think the EQS model should have stayed? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
